Leeuwenhoek had stolen and peeped into the fantastic sub-visible world of little things, creatures that had lived, had bred, had battled, had died, completely hidden from and unknown to all men from the beginning of time. Beasts these were of a kind that ravaged and annihilated whole races of men ten million times larger than they were themselves. Beings these were, more terrible than fire-spitting dragons or hydra-headed monsters. They were silent assassins that murdered babies in warm cradles and kings in sheltered places. It was this invisible, insignificant, but implacable-and sometimes friendly- world Leeuwenhoek had looked into for the first time of all men of all countries. ~Microbe Hunters

A is for Annapurna, B is for Buddhism, C is for Climbing

A is for Annapurna

Annapurna is a section of the Himalayas frequently traveled by avid hikers from around the world. The circuit of hiking around the Annapurna trek is considered one of the hardest in the world.

B is for Buddhism

Although the major religion in Nepal is Hindu, there is a considerable number of Buddhist people and temples. Buddhists are very peaceful people, with a very different culture than here in North America. Their temples are also beautiful.

C is for Climbing

With the Himalayas lining the north of Nepal, there is lots of opportunities to climb a mountain, whether it be to summit a huge mountain, summit a small mountain, or hike to Base Camp of either Everest or Annapurna, there is hiking and climbing everywhere.

p.s. sorry for the delay, I totally forgot it was April already!!

  1. I am no climber but I would LOVE to at least see the Himalayas. What a glorious part of creation!
